Bodnant Gardens

Bodnant Gardens

Just over an hour's drive from our self catering accommodation here at Cae Garw , on the Llyn Peninsula lies Bodnant Gardens.

Owned by the National Trust, it is one of the most beautiful gardens in the UK spanning over 80 acres,  with views over the Conwy valley and the mountain ranges of Snowdonia.

The upper garden around Bodnant Hall consists of the terraced gardens and informal lawns - offering a colorful display of plants whatever time of year.  The lower part of the garden , known as the "Dell" is formed by the valley of the River Hiraethlyn and contains the Wild garden.

In early to late spring - the enchanted magnolias, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons offer a rainbow of colours, while early June sees the famous 55m long Laburnum Arch burst into bloom  - with an overwhelming mass of yellow flowers.  During summer the perfume of roses and climbers is second to none - and when the nights are drawing in - the autumnal leaf and berries display are dazzling .
